How to Find Healthy, Organic Food Locally

Here's a disturbing fact that I simply can't ignore: food traveling to a grocery store averages 1500 miles to reach our store shelves! Imagine all the farms it passes on it's way, growing and selling fresh local fruits and vegetables. Those farmers are trying to earn a living helping the surrounding community by giving a choice to consumers, but most people really don't know about these options. I'd like to change that.
Local food co-operatives (or co-op)
Co-ops allow you to get fresh fruits and vegetables in season that are locally owned and grown and are usually organic too. Some co-ops even offer hands on classess, lectures, and workshops to help you learn more about living a "greener" lifestyle.
